Cong leaders criticise J&K Police for biased attitude

Denial of security cover to Ex-DyCM

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, June 11: Senior Congress leaders today expressed their displeasure over the un-warranted  attitude followed by complete  biased approach in providing the basic security cover as per his protocol to former DyCM, Tara Chand on his way to Ludhiana for urgent  Medical  treatment.
The leaders described the un-warranted and biased approach and attitude  of the SSP Security Jammu in addressing the  Medical  Emergency. It was stated  that former DyCM Tara Chand had developed some abdomen infections after taking 1st dose of Vaccine few days ago, resulting high temperature, pains, complete un-rest.
Senior  Medical faculty member Jammu suggested some tests to ascertain the gravity of infection , temperature and allied problems.
It was decided to have  Medical  special treatment at Delhi, air tickets were  booked, but observing less oxygen saturation, it was decided to move by road at Ludhiana , to have treatment from Dr Sood . Accordingly, request letter was sent to  SSP Security, Jammu  for allowing security staff to accompany Tara Chand, who is designated  category ” Z”  security and to communicate the Punjab police for providing him the security cover as per protocol, but the security authority did not bother to address the emergency and used unparliamentary language and casted aspersions . He left to Ludhiana without security. The Punjab Govt provided the security but in their area.
It is strange how the security authorities are  behaving with the Congress leaders in this UT especially to a person who remained  six years CLP leader, six years Speaker of the Assembly six years DyCM. Matter is serious and needs to be probed.
LG Manoj Sinha is requested to investigate the issue. It  was further decided to call upon the LG and apprise him how the Congress leaders are being harassed  by the security wing of J&K Police. Their security vehicles , security persons have been withdrawn even from the  former ministers, MLAs/MLCs and senior leaders  without looking the threat perception. Whereas, BJP leaders have been provided vehicles , accommodations at very small level  besides former minister and MLA’s MLC’s.
