POONCH, June 12: A minor girl was killed while nine other persons were injured when a Tata Sumo vehicle rolled down into a gorge in Sawajian area of Mandi today.
Official sources said that the vehicle bearing registration No JK 12- 1646, met with an accident near Mohalla Purian at Sawajian in Mandi area in the afternoon.
One girl namely, Nadhia Akhter (3 yrs), daughter of Imtiaz Ahmed, died after reaching at PHC Sawajian. Nine more persons received injuries and were removed to local hospital. Seven of them were later referred to Sub Disrtrict Hospital, Mandi.
The injured were identified as Shabir Ahmed (35), son of Abdul Ahad; Razia Akhter (28), wife of Imtiaz Ahmed; Imtiaz Ahmed, Mohd Ashraf ; Tahira Begumm (23), wife of Mohd Ibrahim; Muskan Shabir (12), daughter of Shabir Ahmed; Mohd Akib (9) , son of Shabir Ahmed and Misbah Akhter, daughter of Shabir Ahmed hailing from Sawajian area. The police has taken cognizance of the matter.
