RAJOURI, June 12: Continuing its efforts against drug peddling, the Police arrested two youth and recovered 800 gms of heroin from their possession in Rajouri today.
Official sources said a police party of PP Rajouri City, during naka checking near Tandwal, apprehended two persons who were attempting to evade the police party in a suspicious manner. They were identified as Mukhtar Ahmed, son of Gulzar Hussain from Pukharni in Lam and Mohammad Kabir Anjum, son of Mohammad Ahmed, hailing from Mooria in Manjakote.
On checking, around 800 gm (0.8 kg) of heroin was recovered from their possession.
A case FIR No. 378/2021 u/s 8(a)/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Rajouri against them. The accused were arrested and further investigation initiated.
The police party was supervised by Additional SP Rajouri Vivek Shekhar.
