JAMMU, June 13: One person was killed while two others were injured in a road accident occurred in Akhnoor area of city outskirts.
According to police official, a speeding bike on which three persons were travelling, rammed into rear side of a stationary truck in Jourian area of Akhnoor.
He said in the mishap, the bike rider namely Jai Dev son of Chanchal Singh, resident of Badyal Khurd (Jourian) and two pillion riders– Shubu (12) son of Pawan Kumar of Badyal Khurd and Babli Devi (62) wife of Chanchal Singh of Khurd Jourian received serious injuries.
“All the injured persons were immediately taken to CHC Jourian. They were later referred to Government Medical College, Jammu, where Babli Devi succumbed to her injuries,” the official said, adding, the body was sent for postmortem.
The condition of other two injured persons were stated to be stable, he said and added that a case FIR Number 153/2021 under Section 279/337 of IPC was registered in this connection at police station Akhnoor and further investigation started.
