Two smuggler nabbed, poppy husk recovered

POONCH, June 14: Security forces today arrested two narcotic smugglers on Mughal Road in Surankote area and recovered poppy husk (Bhukki) from their possesion.
Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch, Dr Vinod Kumar said that a joint team of police and army was on routine naka checking on Mughal Road when a truck bearing registration No. PB13BF- 0385 was signalled to stop.
During thorough physical check, a consignment of 3 kilograms of Poppy husk was found hidden in the vehicle which was recovered.
The accused have been identified as truck driver Dilbagh Singh, son of Hazara Singh, resident of Bhomia Mandala, Amritsar Punjab and Balwinder Singh, son of Sham Singh, resident of Tungballa Majithard, Amritsar.
The recovered contraband along with truck was seized and a case FIR No. 224/2021 under relevant sections of NDPS Act has been registered against the accused persons in Police Station Surankote.
