SSP Traffic holds interactive sessions with transporters

JAMMU, June 16: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Traffic City Jammu Dr Koshal Kumar Sharma held interactive session with transporters at Traffic Police Office (TPO) Panjtirthi here.
The meeting was attended among others by Pardeep Singh Gouria Additional SP Traffic, Shivali Kotwal DySP (T) City North, Sunil Singh DySP (T) South Jammu, Inspector Satvinder Singh DTI Bus Stand, Inspector Rakesh Kumar DTI Old City and office bearers of Transport Unions including Niranjan Singh Chairman Mini Buses Workers Union, Vijay Singh, President All J&K Welfare Association, Ravi Sharma, President All India Sleepers Buses Association, Dipak Sharma General Secretary All India Sleeper Buses and Jatinder Khajuria Vice President Mini Buses Union.
The participants were informed that the men in blue work day and night for bringing a positive change in the system and they have been directed to be firm yet polite with the drivers and other road users.
SSP asked that while plying on road, the doors of the vehicle be kept closed for safety of the passengers. Stress was also laid upon the importance of having valid documents like route permit, registration certificate, appropriate license, insurance cover, fitness etc.
The office bearers of the Transport Unions also highlighted their problems which include lack of adequate parking areas, lack of infrastructure and also informed that the situation has considerably improved over the couple of years with there being very little overloading in the vehicles and no violation of route permit.
SSP Traffic stressed upon them to come up with their grievances, suggestions as well as viable proposals for redressal.
