JAMMU, June 16: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta has asked the party cadre including the workers and activists to proactively create awareness about the multiple schemes launched by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi led Central Government for the welfare of the people.
He asked them not just create awareness but also ensure that all those entitled avail the benefit of these schemes.
The former Deputy Chief Minister was speaking at a function organized for providing pension to widows and old aged at Jawahar Nagar here, today. During the function he distributed pension among 150 eligible beneficiaries.
Addressing the gathering, Kavinder said that though the Central Government has launched several schemes for the people yet it is to be ensured that eligible beneficiaries seek the facilities provided under these schemes as only then these would serve the purpose of providing relief to the common man.
While enumerating various schemes including Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, Startup India, Make in India, Bhima Yojana, Beti Bachao-Beti Padao, Smart City projects, Pahal, etc. Kavinder Gupta said that the credit of formulating and launching these schemes undoubtedly goes to the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. He pointed out that earlier the old age pension was Rs. 200 but it was enhanced to Rs. 1000 during the BJP Government showing the PM’s concern about the welfare of the senior and super senior citizens. He asserted that all such schemes when implemented in letter and spirit will not only benefit every section of the society but will transform the nation as a whole into a model welfare state.
The senior BJP leader asked the party workers to proactively get involved in dispensing information about all the aforesaid schemes among the masses so that no eligible person fails to take benefit of these schemes.
