Godrej Interio opens shop in Chennai, targets 27 % growth

CHENNAI, June 19:  Godrej Interio, manufacturer of home and  office furniture, today forayed into the South by opening its preview store in Chennai City.
The store was inaugurated by Chennai Corporation Mayor Saidai  Duraisamy in the presence of MLA V P Kalairanjan and Godrej  Interio Vice-President Subodh Mehta.
Talking to reporters, Mr Mehta said this was one of a kind  store wherein customers would have access to the latest range,  upcoming trends and options even before the actual launch of  the products.
“The objective is to keep them abreast with innovations  and transform the furniture buying experience,” he added.
The store, spread over three floors, offers a wide array  of options for the consumers. It
“offers a blend of modern and innovative furniture for the  kitchen, bedroom, living and dining area. The idea is to create  a one stop destination for discerning consumers of Chennai and  transform their lives with ease,” Mr Mehta said.
“We are happy to launch the store in Chennai which gives a  strong testimony to the overall growth of the business. Chennai  as a market is evolving with new trends and hence it forms our  biggest aspirations for state-of-art and design-centric products,”
he added.
“Notably, South India and Chennai are Godrej Interio’s  growing markets. The region contributed 25 per cent to the  company’s market share, despite huge competition in the  organised furniture market.
“The company is focusing on aggressive growth strategies  by improving distribution network in the region. The company  saw a 21 per cent growth in South India in the last two years  and is now targeting a 27 per cent growth this year,” he said.
