JAMMU, June 17: Jammu Municipal Corporation today demolished a structure raised illegally in Sainik Colony area.
The building was demolished by a JMC team headed by Rajesh Gupta, Chief Enforcement Officer Enforcement Wing at Sector-D Extension, Sainik Colony, Jammu, on the directions of JMC Commissioner Avny Lavasa.
The action was taken under the provisions of Section 8(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Control of Building Operation Act, 1988 as the building was raised illegally in violation to provisions of Jammu Master Plan, 2032. Click here to watch video
It is also pertinent to mention here that JMC has demolished/ sealed a number of unauthorized constructions during the recent past to desist violators from raising the constructions without permission/ in-violation of the approved building plans.
The JMC Commissioner has further appealed the general public to refrain from raising illegal constructions and get building plans approved for commercial and residential purpose and raise building according to approved building plan, failing which action as warranted under Jammu and Kashmir Control of Building Operation Act, 1988 and Jammu and Kashmir, Municipal Corporation Act,2000 will be taken against the violators.
