Jammu, June 17: A policeman was martyred in a militant attack outside his residence at Saidapora Eidgah area of Srinagar this evening.
Inspector General of Police Kashmir, Vijay Kumar told Excelsior that the policeman, Javaid Ahmad Tambi of Saidpora, was critically injured when militants fired at him outside his residence at Saidpora. He was removed to SKIMS Soura for treatment. He was declared brought dead.
He was posted with a Judicial Officer and had returned home shortly before the attack.
Senior Police officers reached the spot and a massive hunt has been launched against militants responsible for the attack.
