Sadhotra for unity, integrity of 3-regions

Minister for Planning Ajay Sadhotra and MLA Dr Mustafa Kamaal and others releasing book at JKAACL on Wednesday.

SRINAGAR, June 19: A book titled “Kashmir & Sher-e-Kashmir” written by PL. D. Parimoo was released at an impressive but simple function held at J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages here today.
The function was organized by Funkar Cultural Organization Kashmir. MLA Hazratbal, Dr. Mustafa Kamaal was the chief guest while as Minister for Labour, Employment and Planning Ajay Sadhotra was the guest of honour.
Secretary, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages Khalid Bashir Ahmad, Farooq Nazki, Vijay Bakaya, Ayaz Rasool, Shafi Ahmad Qadri, G. N. Khayal, Iqbal Faheem, Prof. Naila Ali Khan, Prof. Jabbar were present in the function. President Funkar Cultural Organization Kashmir, Fida M. Husnain, General Secretary, G. R. Hasrat Gadda and PL. D. Parimoo attended the function.
Minister for Labour and Employment and Planning Ajay Sadhotra while addressing the function said that the contribution of Sher-e-Kashmir for the prosperity and progress of Jammu and Kashmir is immense and history is witness to the works done by late leader for bringing literacy, improving economy of poor and under privileged class and above all the declaration of land to tiller were the land marks remembered by one and all.
Regarding autonomy, Mr. Sadhotra said that it was vision of Sher-e-Kashmir to work on the mission of greater autonomy of the J&K, which was brought forward by former Chief Minister and Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Dr. Farooq Abdullah during his tenure as Chief Minister of the State. He said that present Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is the torch bearer of the mission of his grand-father aimed at giving powers to the people to decide their fate themselves.
Appealing people to work for unity and integrity of the state Mr. Sadhotra said that the success lies in the unity in diversity and all of us should strengthen the hands of Government in proper implementation of developmental and welfare schemes so that the benefit of these schemes reaches down below to the masses living at grass route level.
MLA Dr. Mustafa Kamaal presented a detailed history of Sher-e-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah and said that the life sketch of late leader has two prominent periods, before 1947 and after 1947. He said that Sher-e-Kashmir fought against oppressive system of that time and not against any dynasty or any individual. He said that late leader struggled for the development of various vital sectors like horticulture, agriculture, handicrafts, health, education and power in the state, adding that Sheikh emphasized for establishment of J&K as welfare State.
Dr. Kamaal said that Sher-e-Kashmir advocated peaceful and meaningful friendly relations with neighbouring countries including Pakistan and also for amicable solution of Kashmir tangle.
