REASI, June 18: Police arrested an absconder, who was evading his arrest from the past 6 years, police official said.
The accused identified as Mohammad Gafoor, son of Bagh Hussain of Dasanoo District Reasi was absconding in a case registered under FIR Number 7/2014 under Section 48-a Excise Act with Police Station Reasi.
Case got proved and challaned in the court of law. To avoid conviction, the accused evaded trial proceedings by going underground and couldn’t be apprehended since 2015.
Accused dodged the investigation agencies by disguising his appearance.
General warrant of arrest under Section 512 CrPC was also issued by Munsiff JMIC Reasi against the accused on January 21, 2015.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
