Srinagar, June 19: Residents of Lolab in north Kashmir today staged a protest seeking immediate action against the alleged murderers of youth from the Wavoora Lolab area who died within three days of his marriage.
The protestors, mainly women, took to the streets and raised slogans demanding justice. They also demanded that the police must expedite the investigation and bring the culprits to book.
During the protest, the local police officers assured the protestors that a fair investigation is being carried out in the matter.
In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 38/2021 has been registered at Police Station Sogam Lolab, under section 309.
It is to be noted here that the youth had died after allegedly consuming a poisonous substance following which he died, while police have already started the investigation into the matter.
