POONCH, June 20: In its drive against absconders who are evading their arrests in various cases, Poonch police in Mendhar sub division have arrested two absconders.
Senior Superintendent of Police Poonch, Dr Vinod Kumar said that one of the absconder has been arrested in the jurisdiction of Mendhar Police Station and other one in Gursai area.
One absconder Mohammad Shafiq, son of Khadam Hussain, resident of village Ari in Mendhar was involved in case FIR 73/2016 under sections 498, 109 RPC but was evading his arrest for the last five years and a warrant was also issued by the court under 512 CrPC (Now 299 CrPC).
The absconder has been arrested by a police team headed by SHO Mendhar, Insp Manzoor Kohli under the supervision of SDPO Mendhar, Zaheer Jafri.
Second absconder has been arrested by police team headed by SHO Gursai, Insp Niaz Ahmed who has been identified as Sadaqat Hussain, son of Mohammad Rashid from Gursai.
The absconder was evading his arrest and a general warrant was also issued against him by a court.
He was involved in case FIR No. 44/2015 U/Ss 323,324 RPC but was evading his arrest from five years.
