Theft case solved, accused arrested

JAMMU, June 21: Bakshi Nagar police has claimed to have solved a theft case by arresting a thief and recovering stolen cash amounting to Rs 35,000.
According to police sources, a complaint was lodged at police station Bakshi Nagar by a PDD lineman namely Shashipal son of Ramesh Lal, resident of Bakshi Nagar that a theft has occurred in his house and cash amounting to Rs 35000 have been stolen from his almirah.
On the basis of complaint, a case FIR Number 95 /2021 under Section 457/380 IPC was registered at police station Bakshi Nagar and investigation started by a special police team under the supervision of SDPO West Rahul Nagar.
The team led SHO police station Bakshi Nagar Inspector Ravi Kant with the help of CCTV footages of the area and other technical aids finally rounded up a suspect namely Sahil Dogra son of Garu Ram, resident of Roulki (Bakshi Nagar). During sustained questioning, the accused confessed his involvement in the theft case and on his disclosure stolen cash of Rs 35000 was recovered from him.
It is pertinent to mention that the accused is a habitual offender and has earlier also involved three to four theft cases. Further investigation of the case is going on.
