SRINAGAR, June 20: PCC president Prof Saif-ud-din Soz along with the Tourism Minister G A Mir and other senior Congress leaders addressed a public meeting at Shanglipora (Khag) in district Budgam today.
While speaking on the occasion, Prof Soz assured the people that no effort would be spared to develop Toos Maidan as the Development Authority which can eradicate poverty and unemployment from the area. He urged the Tourism Minister, G A Mir to take urgent measures to get Toos Maidan declared as Development Authority. He also assured the people that he would also urge the State R&B Minister Abdul Majid Wani to ensure road connectivity with Toos Maidan through Magam and Khag.
On the occasion G A Mir said that his Ministry would immediately take measures to institute the Toos Maidan Development Authority and solve all connected problems. He also assured that he would include the entire area for Development under a special scheme of the Tourism Ministry.
MLC Mohd Muzaffar Parray, Gulam Nabi Monga, Master Mohd Maqbool and Nazir Ahmad Khan urged the people to strengthen the Congress Party, so that Developmental process in this area would receive a push forward.
Earlier, Nazir Ahmad Khan presented a 10- point Memorandum of Demands saying that the area had been neglected as for the development was concerned.
