33 fresh cases in UT of Ladakh

JAMMU/SRINAGAR/ LEH, June 22: Seven persons died of COVID-19 including four in Kashmir and three in Jammu while 428 tested positive today.
Three COVID fatalities and 148 fresh cases were reported in Jammu region today.
A 45-year-old man hailing from Gandoh in Doda district, presently putting up at Belicharana on outskirts of Jammu, was found dead with his body floating in a canal. During post-mortem, he tested positive for COVID-19 in the Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu.
A 76-year-old woman, who was a resident of Trikuta Nagar, died of co-morbidities and Coronavirus in the GMC Jammu while 60-year-old woman from Manjakote in Rajouri district succumbed to the virus in the GMC Rajouri.
With three more casualties, Jammu region’s Corona toll has reached 2077. Highest 1126 casualties have been reported in Jammu district followed by 215 in Rajouri, 149 Kathua, 131 Udhampur, 118 Samba, 108 Doda, 87 Poonch, 60 Ramban, 42 Reasi and 41 in Kishtwar district.
Among 148 persons, who tested positive for COVID-19 in Jammu region today, maximum 32 cases were reported in Jammu district, 29 in Rajouri, 23 Doda, 22 Poonch, 13 Reasi, eight Ramban, seven Kishtwar, six Kathua and four each in Samba and Udhampur districts.
Daily recoveries in the region today went up to 402 including 89 in Ramban district, 86 in Poonch, 74 Jammu, 54 Doda, 29 Rajouri, 20 Reasi, 18 Samba, 16 Kathua, 10 Udhampur and six in Kishtwar district.
Jammu region’s Corona cases today reached 1,18,527.
Among them, 2619 are active positive cases while 1,13,831 have recovered from the virus and there have been 2077 casualties.
Out of 2619 active positive cases, 825 are in Jammu district, 657 in Doda, 254 Poonch, 253 Rajouri, 135 Ramban, 125 Kishtwar, 107 Udhampur, 101 Reasi, , 84 Samba and 78 in Kathua district.
Meanwhile, the Union Territory of Ladakh today reported 33 fresh COVID positive cases including 27 in Leh district and six in Kargil.
However, no Corona casualty was reported from Ladakh today.
New cases have taken Corona count in Ladakh to 19838 including 365 active positive cases and 19271 recoveries besides 202 fatalities—144 in Leh and 58 in Kargil.
Out of 365 active positive cases in the Union Territory of Ladakh, 30 were admitted in COVID hospitals while 211 were in home isolation, 77 in COVID Care Centres and 47 in Facility Isolation.
Meanwhile, Kashmir today recorded 280 fresh positive cases while four persons succumbed to the virus.
Those who tested positive include 104 from Srinagar, 25 from Baramulla, 25 from Budgam, 28 from Pulwama, 29 from Kupwara, 15 from Anantnag, 15 from Bandipora, 15 from Ganderbal, 23 from Kulgam and one from Shopian.
As per officials figures, 69,331 positive cases including 822 deaths and 67,269 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,050 including 276 deaths and 22,274 recoveries are from Baramulla, 22,357 including 21,564 recoveries and 201 deaths are from Budgam, 14,728 including 13,996 recoveries and 188 deaths are from Pulwama, 13,607 including 161 deaths and 12,928 recoveries are from Kupwara, 15,860 including 15,267 recoveries and 197 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,185 cases including 8,849 and 99 deaths are from Bandipora, 9,472 including 9,188 recoveries and 76 deaths are from Ganderbal, 10,930 including 10,521 recoveries and 114 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,537 including 5,447 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.
The number of cases in Kashmir division has reached 194,057 including 187,303 recoveries and 2,192 deaths.
The number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 7,181 including 4,562 from Kashmir division.
With 999 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 301,134 which is 96,33 percent of the total cases.
And in the meantime, the localities declared as Red Zones in Srinagar continued to record a large number of COVID cases as, according to the official figures over 1300 active cases out of total over 1500 have been detected from the Containment Zones within the district.
Of total 1575 cases, 1384 have been detected from the localities declared as the Red Zones by the district administration Srinagar.
The figure revealed that only 191 active positive cases till Saturday were reported from outside containment zones, which is just 12.1 per cent of the total active positive cases.
It added that a total of 153 localities within the district have been declared as Red Zones.
And with COVID SOPS and guidelines at place, the Anantnag administration has opened all public paid parks in the district.
Earlier, the State Executive Committee (SEC) had authorized the concerned Deputy Commissioners of the Jammu and Kashmir, to take a call on the opening of the public paid parks after taking the assessment of the conditions and after according to due consideration, subject to Covid appropriate measures.
