KISHTWAR, June 23: Police arrested a man for raping and impregnating his minor domestic helper here today.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by a person with Police Station Kishtwar stating that his 13-year-old daughter has been allegedly raped by her employer identified as Kamran Najjar, son of Muzaffer Najjar, a resident of Om Mehta road and also impregnating her. Sources added that the victim belongs to a poor family and is having 5 months pregnancy.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 137/2021 under Sections 376 IPC and 4 Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered in Police Station Kishtwar and investigation was set into motion.
During the course of investigation, a special team led by DySP Devinder Singh Bandral and assisted by SHO Kishtwar Inspector Abid Bukhari was constituted by SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Batt under the supervision of Additional SP Kishtwar Rajinder Singh.
The team acted swiftly and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of heinous crime.
Further investigation into the matter is going on.
