Pensioners seek release of 3 pending DA installments

JAMMU, June 24: A joint meeting of the prominent Government pensioners of Union Territory of J&K, Municipal and Urban Local Bodies Pensioners Association held under the chairmanship of B S Jamwal urged upon the Govt to release pending three DA installments and order enhancement of Medical allowance of the employees and pensioners of J&K UT.
During the meeting, the speakers expressed serious concern over the non-release of three pending DA installments of the employees and pensioners. They said that due to sharp hike in the prices of petrol-diesel, LPG and other essential commodities, extra burden has been exerted on the poor and lower middle class people.
They further demanded enhancement of Medical allowance in favour of Government employees and pensioners. They said Rs 300 per month was a very meager amount being paid to them at present. They demanded at least Rs 2000 per month Medical Allowance in favour of employees and pensioners.
Meanwhile, during the meeting Kartar Singh was unanimously elected as district president of the Association for district Kathua, Irshad Hussain district president Poonch, Raghubir Singh Sambyal president for district Samba and Hans Raj as district president Reasi. B S Jamwal and Bahu-ud-Din will look afer Jammu district’s Municipal, Local Bodies Pensioners Association.
