JAMMU, June 24: In order to take stock of the arrangements being made for the people arriving at COVID Vaccination Centres, general secretary of Jammu & Kashmir BJP, Vibodh Gupta visited COVID Primary Health Centre, Talab Tillo here, today.
He was accompanied by secretary, BJP Jammu & Kashmir, Rekha Mahajan, BJP Talab Tillo Mandal president, Keshav Chopra, corporator, Sanjay Baru and BJP Jammu West, district general secretary, Rajesh Gupta.
On this occasion, Vibodh Gupta said that in fight against Corona, the world’s largest vaccine campaign is in full swing in which over 28.87 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far, out of which 8 crore doses have been administered to beneficiaries in 18-44 years age group. He complimented PM Narendra Modi for launching such a massive free vaccination drive across the country to fight Coronavirus. He added that Jammu and Kashmir is also vaccinating all above 18 years of age and has administered over 40 lakh vaccines so far and this could become possible because of the active participation of people and able mechanism put forth by the Government to vaccinate each and everyone, even in far off places.
“Vaccines offer strong protection against COVID-19, but you must take all the recommended doses”, Vibodh said and expressed hope that soon the nation would be declared COVID-19 free.
Rekha Mahajan said that all approved COVID-19 vaccines have been thoroughly tested and each one of them provides a high degree of protection against getting infected or seriously ill. So it is important to get vaccinated as per ones turn. This way, immunity can be built faster and people will get back to their normal lives.
She also cautioned the people present in the vaccination centre not to take virus casually and continue to follow social distancing, hand washing and wearing of masks, besides getting vaccinated as these are the only guards against this virus.
Mandal president, Keshav Chopra and Corporator, Sanjay Baru said that people should not get misled by false rumours spread by some mischievous elements and go for vaccination without any hesitation or fear.
District general secretary and incharge vaccination drive, Jammu West, Rajesh Gupta appealed people to follow the COVID guidelines issued by the Government.
