3 LeT militants charge-sheeted

JAMMU, June 24: Jammu Police today presented challan against three militants of Lashkar e-Toiba (LeT) in the Court of Special Judge National Investigating Agency (NIA).
These militants are Raees Ahmed Dar, son of Ghulam Hassan Dar of Kulgam,  Zahoor Ahmad Rather, son of Ghulam Hassan Rather of Anantnag and  Sabzar Ahmed Sheikh, son of Ghulam Ahmed Sheikh of Kulgam.
According to the challan, these militants were apprehended by Special Operation Group (SOG) from Narwal area along with AK rifle, one pistol, two magazines of AK Series, 60 rounds of AK Series and 15 rounds of pistol.
Accordingly, FIR No. 359/2020 U/S 120-B/121/121-A, 122 IPC, 7/25 AA. 18/20/38/39 UA (P) Act was registered.
During the course of investigation, it has come to fore that Zahoor Ahmad Rather is an active militant of LeT (TRF) banned organization and in the month of November 2020 hatched a criminal conspiracy with Raees Ahmed Dar for transportation of consignment of arms and ammunition from Narwal.
During further investigation, involvement of Abass Sheikh, son of Ghulam Hassan Sheikh of Kulgam, unknown Molvi of Qazigund and one lady namely Boba of Sadura also surfaced. To ascertain their identity and their involvement in the instant case investigation will remain continue and after collecting evidence supplementary challan will be produced in the court of law.
“FSL report from CFSL Chandigarh and FSL Srinagar is also awaited and the same will also be submitted before the court which will form part of this challan”, police said.
Raees Ahmed and Zahoor Ahmed Rather are presently lodged in District Jail Anantnag on the order of Special Judge (Designated Court under NIA) Anantnag dated 21.05.2021 whereas accused Sabzar Ahmed Sheikh is lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal on judicial remand up to 23.06.2021.
