JUET: Over 3,000 candidates turn up on first day

JAMMU, June 1: Over three thousand candidates turn up for the Jammu University Entrance Test (JUET) on the first day here today, conducted by the University across the State.
As per the handout issued by the Office of the Public Relations, University of Jammu, 3418 candidates appeared in the four subjects of the Jammu University Entrance Test (JUET) on the first day at nine centers including Jammu, Kathua, Poonch, Rajouri, Srinagar, Udhampur, Reasi, Bhaderwah and Leh.
A total of 1868 candidates have applied for Zoology combination, out of which 1715 candidates appeared in the test while 154 candidates were absent.
In Urdu combination, 570 candidates have applied and 486 candidates appeared and rest were absent where as in Physics combination, out of 1209 candidates who had applied 1116 candidates appeared in the test and 93 were absent.
In Dogri combination, 101 candidates appeared in the test out of a total of 141 candidates who have applied for the same while 40 were absent.
Tomorrow the entrance test will be held for Human Genetics, Electronics, Punjabi and MSc IT.
In the Entrance test, which will culminate on June 14, approximately 16,000 candidates are appearing against 31,000 applications for nearly 2200 seats available in various Government and private institutions.
