Weeklong workshop on IPR commences

JAMMU, June 26: Weeklong virtual national workshop on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) has commenced at Government PG College Rajouri.
The workshop is being organised by IQAC and Science Club of the College in collaboration with CSIR-Institute of Minerals & Materials Technology (IMMT), Bhubaneswar, Odisha.
Prof. Suddhasatwa Basu, Director, CSIR-IMMT was chief guest in the inaugural ceremony whereas Prof. Shakeel Ahmed Raina, Principal of the College presided over the function.
In welcome address, Prof Raina briefed the audience about the significance of IPR as well as need of organizing a faculty development programme on this pertinent topic.
He said that knowledge of IPR is a must for every researcher and faculty member.
Prof. Suddhasatwa Basu highlighted the need of IPR awareness, various innovation and incubation schemes of CSIR and encouraged the budding youth to participate in these scientific programmes.
Dr. Ashok K. Sahu, Chief Scientist and CEO-InTEC, CSIR-IMMT also spoke on the occasion.
About 150 faculty members, scientists, scholars and students from various institutions across J&K, rest of the country and the world including England, Nigeria, Middle East and Nepal are participating in the workshop spread over 6 sessions of three hours each.
The experts drawn from industry and CSIR institutes to address the workshop include Amit Kumar Patel, MD, PA Tectual IP Services; Dr T. Pavan Kumar, Senior Scientist, CSIR IMMT; Dr Parash Kumar Dave, Founder IP Moment; Dr Kapil Arya, Senior Scientist, CSIR IPU and others.
