JAMMU, June 28: Protests against forcible conversions of Sikh girls in Kashmir Valley continued for second consecutive day today with leaders of various social and political organizations condemning it and demanded a ban on the same by the Government.
The irate Sikhs held a protest deomonstration at Hatli Morh, Kathua and blocked National Highway against the forcible conversions of their girls by the fundamentalists in Kashmir Valley and demanded immediate handing over of the girl abducted by a Muslim to her parents failing which the community will intensify the agitation.
The protest was led by District Gurudwara Prabandhak Committee (DGPC) president, Kathua, Charanjit Singh and its another leader, Amrik Singh. They warned to intensify agitation in case the authorities failed to restore the kidnapped girl to her parents.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) while condemning the act said it is strongly concerned over the recent abduction of Sikh girl in Srinagar and her marriage to an elderly Muslim man of the age of her father; as stated by Sikh community leaders.
V.H.P State president, Leela Karan Sharma said that it is quite unfortunate to learn that there are notable cases of Sikh girls having been forced or lured to marry Muslim men in Kashmir during last few months and local authorities as well as Muslim community leaders have kept a stoic silence over the mishappenings and the religious conversions of those girls.
Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) has asked the LG Manoj Sinha to immediately order an independent investigation into the serious allegations of forcible conversions and marriages of two Sikh girls in Kashmir and make public the findings in a time bound manner..
JKPCC chief spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma said that the party strongly condemned such incidents as alleged and the minorities should be fully protected including their dignity, honour and freedom in all respects. Any such incident should be taken with all seriousness in view of the sensitivity of the Issue.
Shuja Zaffar chairman Jammu Muslim Front strongly condemned the barbaric and forceful acts which has taken place with an innocent Sikh girl. The Front held a meeting here today which among others was attended by Tanveer Wani vice president and Mohammed Sadiq general secretary termed the incident as unfortunate and said the J&K society has failed miserably in addressing such incidents.
Apni Party, (AP) provincial president, Jammu, and former Minister, Manjit Singh today strongly condemned alleged forced marriage and conversion of a Sikh girl in Srinagar and demanded strict action against the accused person who have attempted to promote enmity between the two communities.
In a statement to the press, Manjit Singh has expressed his deep concern over the miscreants who are bent upon to hurt the feelings of a community and create mistrust with their acts which should be strongly condemned by all.
All  J&K 1947 Sharnarthi Intellectual Forum called an emergency meeting of its Core committee members under the chairmanship of Amrik Singh and joined by Surjit Singh general secretary of Forum.
The Forum expressed its strong resentment over the forcibly abduction of a Sikh girl in Kashmir and got forcibly converted and married with a Muslim old man. The Forum expressed their resentment and urge upon the Lt. Governor to intervene into the insensible matter and take stern action against the culprits and also get safe return of the victim girl to her parents.
JKPCC Vice President and former Minister Raman Bhalla strongly condemned alleged forced marriage and conversion of Sikh girls in Srinagar and demanded exemplary punishment against accused person who have dared to disturb communal harmony in J&K. This was observed by former Minister after meeting prominent members of Sikh community from Gandhi Nagar constituency who were shocked over the incidence demanding strong action against culprits hurting religious sentiments of community.
Mission Statehood J&K (MSJK) has condemned the forcible conversion of Sikh girls.
In a press conference here today MSJK leader, Sunil Dimple said that PM Modi and J&K LG should expose the forces behind the heinous crime of forcible conversion so that peace, confidence and communal harmony is restored in J&K.
