Mehbooba joined the family in mourning the loss of three of its members after she reached the house of the slain SPO Fayaz Ahmad in Hariparigam village to express sympathies with them.
“Such incidents won’t help in the resolution of issues; rather, the power of the gun is not an option for resolving any problem, it won’t help at all,” Mehbooba told reporters after meeting the relatives and the family of the slain SPO.
PDP President while terming the incident as condemnable and utterly wrong said that in J&K “brothers have become enemies of each other, while as homes have been emptied across J&K while the incidents of such nature are being carried out,” she said.
She reiterated that killing innocent is not and cannot be the solution to any problem. “Come what may, such incident cannot be the solution,” he said.
Mehbooba also demanded that the son of the slain SPO who is a Territorial Army soldier be adjusted in a civil department under SRO 43. “Their son Liyaqat must be adjusted in a civil department as they have been left with no one in the family,” she demanded.
It is to be noted here that there were six members in their family after 3 were killed, only the family of Liyaqat currently posted in Pulwama and got married two years ago is left, which includes his wife, and a son.
Earlier, in a Tweet, Mehbooba had also condemned the incident while terming it cowardly. “No words are strong enough to condemn the cowardly attack in Awantipora that claimed the lives of a JKP officer Fayaz Ahmad, his wife & daughter. May Allah Ta’aala grant them maghfirat & their loved ones the fortitude to bear this loss,” she Tweeted.
