Freight rates up on tight position of trucks

NEW DELHI, June 22:  Freight rates for nine-tonne load hardened up to Rs 1,000 in the local truck transport market today following less position of trucks against cargo movements.
Transporters said increased cargo movements and tight position of trucks mainly pushed up freight rates.
Delhi to Vijaywada and Chennai freight rates rose by Rs 1,000 each to Rs 55,000 and Rs 65,000, respectively.
Freights to Hyderabad, Bangalore and Patna also gained Rs 1,000 each to Rs 53,000, Rs 63,000 and Rs 27,000, respectively.
