12 bovines rescued, one arrested

JAMMU, July 1: Nagrota and Udhampur Police rescued twelve bovine animals and arrested one person.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Police Station Nagrota laid a naka and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK02BH-6362.
During checking, police team rescued four bovine animals from the vehicle and arrested one person, who was identified as Shakeel Mohammad, son of Malook Hussain of Kadyal Tehsil RS Pura District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 299/2021 under Section 188 IPC has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shoket made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Parupkar Singh.
Meanwhile, a joint team from Police Station Udhampur led by SHO Inspector Chaman Gorkha and assisted by Incharge Police Post Roun Domail SI Kaku Ram under the supervision of Sahil Mahajan DySP Headquarters Udhampur laid a surprise naka at Johnu area and intercepted a Mahindra bearing registration number JK14G-5647.
During checking, police team rescued 8 bovine animals from the vehicle, while the smugglers managed to escape by taking advantage of the darkness.
A case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Udhampur and investigation started.
