Thieves target 5 places; decamp with cash, scooty

SAMBA, July 1: Thieves targeted four to five places together last night in Ward No 5, adjacent to the New Bus Stand of Samba.
The incident was captured in a CCTV installed in a school, in which the thief is clearly visible taking an iron rod in his hand.
Thieves decamped with a scooty JK21F-5141 in the street. Scooty owner, Ramesh Kumar said that like everyday he used to put his scooty in the street outside his house. As soon as he woke up in the morning, he was surprised to see that the scooty was missing.
The thieves scaled another house and fled with a mobile of Ramesh Bhatti, who was sleeping with the family in the courtyard of the house.
They also targeted the Co-operative Model High School in the same Ward, and fled away from there after collecting the trophy and laboratory items from the school. Thieves also targeted a temple, broke the donation box and took away cash from it.
This has created panic among the local people.
Local resident Titu Bhatti said that till date this has never happened in their locality, it has created a lot of panic among our people. He said this has put a question mark on police and its vigilance.
