NGEU asks JU to issue formal order soon on regularization

JAMMU, June 22: Expressing satisfaction over the agreement reached out with Jammu University, the Non-Gazetted Employees Union (NGEU) has asked the JU authorities to issue the formal order soon for regularization of the Casual Labourers and Safai Karamcharis.
“As per the agreement, JU authorities have agreed to accommodate 70 Class-IV workers and 10 Safai Karamcharis on the vacant posts, which are to be filled within 15 days while the remaining workers will also been adjusted soon on regular basis,” said Krishan Kumar, president of NGEU, while talking to media persons, here today.
Giving reference of the  Circular number  Estab /13/4654-58 Dated: 20-06-2013, Mr Krishan further said that the JU authorities will not advertise the Class-IV posts till the new policy of regularization is made available by the Government and the University Bodies.
“We are quite hopeful that the JU authorities will stand by the circular issued in this regard and not backtrack from their assurance,” he said and warned that any delay in implementation of the agreement would force NGEU to resume the suspended strike.
Extending gratitude to all the individuals and organizations for their support during the 43-day long strike, the jubiliant NGEU leaders today also applauded the JU Negotiating Committee and the Vice-Chancellor, who were used to be criticized daily during the 43-day long strike for their alleged callous attitude towards the Class-IV employees.
Those who were present in the press conference, included, NGEU general secretary  Vijay Kumar,  Kishore Kumar, Suraj Kumar, Rakesh Kumar and others.
