Duggar Manch celebrates birth anniversary of Tara Smailpuri

JAMMU, July 2: On the occasion of 95th birth anniversary of eminent Dogri writer and poet Tara Smailpuri, Duggar Manch organized an online function to pay respect to the legendary Dogra poet.
President Duggar Manch, Mohan Singh highlighted contours of Tara Smailpuri’s rich literary contributions. “His poetry is laced with wit and humour of superb quality and he made Dogras proud by his unique style of making satire on the situation, even acting during the organized events,” he added.
The programme was compeered by Gharo Chaudhary who also recited one selected Gazhal of the writer. The keynote address on life and achievements was presented by the poet’s grand-daughter Samvedna Sharma.
Galaxy of young poets who presented their thought provoking compositions on the occasion, included Richa Anand, Surita Sharma, Ravinder Verma, Rakesh Verma, Savere Sharma, Renuka Sharma, Heena Choudhary, Rekha Thakur, Savtenterta Mehra, Dr Narinder Pangotra, Rahul Sharma, Surekha Rajput, Sushma Rani , Padam Choudhary and Chander Mohan Sharma. Prof Shalini Rana presented vote of thanks.
