Srinagar, July 2: The Directorate of Health Services, Kashmir today said that vaccinating the staff of educational institutions across Kashmir is a must before any decision is taken with regard to reopening them by the Government.
In a letter that has been written to the Director, Higher Education UT of J&K and Director, School Education Kashmir, the DHSK has stated that vaccination is important to prevent the resurgence of COVID.
“…Before any decision is taken by the Government in future regarding re-opening of Educational Institutions in UT of J&K, it becomes imperative to get all Teaching/Non-Teaching staff & also eligible students fully vaccinated, so as to prevent a potential resurgence of COVID-19 cases upon opening up of Educational Institutions,” reads the letter.
In the backdrop of above, the DHSK said it is, therefore, requested that the dates for vaccination of all teaching/non-teaching staff, as well as eligible students (batch-wise), may kindly be conveyed to this directorate at the earliest “so that the vaccination sites are created at the places to be identified by you.”
The DHSK has sought early action with regard to the matter.
