JAMMU, June 22: Following ‘leakage’ of Combined Entrance Test question paper at some centers in Srinagar,  the Board of Professional Entrance Examination  (BOPEE)  has postponed the  Biology paper, which was scheduled to be held tomorrow and also cancelled today’s paper of  Chemistry.
Fresh dates for conducting the entrance test of Biology and Chemistry shall be announced later on.
Reports said that at six different centers in Srinagar, the invigilators found that the packets of D-series question paper in Chemistry were actually containing the Biology paper, which was scheduled to be held tomorrow. As soon as the mistake, apparently on part of the printer came into notice, the concerned authorities issued instructions for immediately arranging photo copies of the Chemistry paper for distribution of the same among candidates, who were also provided some extra time.
Due to leakage of tomorrow’s Biology paper, the BOPEE announced postponement of the same and also cancelled today’s Chemistry paper in view of the apprehension that it could also have got leaked while getting photocopied in six centres.
The six centers, where the packets of Chemistry-D series papers were containing Biology papers, included SP Higher Secondary School, Kothi Bagh Girls HSS, Government Women Polytechnic Bemina, Women College MA Road and Islamia College of Science and Communication.
“We have postponed tomorrow’s paper of Biology while today’s paper of Chemistry stands cancelled to restore credibility of the Board,” BOPEE Chairman Prof R D Sharma told the Excelsior. However, he added, tomorrow’s paper of Mathematics shall be conducted as per the schedule.
Prof Sharma also ruled out any mischief at BOPEE level in ‘leakage’ of the paper and said that the error was apparently on part of the printer, who might have mistakenly put Biology papers in the Chemistry packets.
