JAMMU, June 22: Army opened firing after observing movement of some suspects along the Line of Control in Sabjian sub sector of Poonch district in the wee hours of this morning.
“The troops of Banwat battalion noticed movement of suspected persons in Sabjian area of Poonch district at 3.10 am today and opened firing to neutralize militants and thwart the infiltration attempt,” official sources said.
Sources said the troops after firing, launched the search operation but no bodies were recovered. However, searches were in progress.
Army has been maintaining a very high alert on the LoC in anticipation of infiltration by the militants.
