72 bovine animals rescued, 20 smugglers arrested

REASI, July 3: Continuing drive against bovine smugglers in district Reasi, Police team arrested 20 bovine smugglers while rescuing 72 number of cattle from their possession.
Police station Arnas apprehended two bovine smugglers Jumma and Mohd Ashraf of Chakal Salta Thakrakote from Arnas area and rescued two animals from their possession.
Team of Police Station Chassana intercepted three Tata Mobile vehicles bearing registration numbers JK20B-1137, JK20A-1732 & JK20A-3852 loaded with bovine animals from Sungri Chasana area. Five bovine smugglers were arrested and 15 bovines were rescued. Arrested accused were identified as Shabir of Dhami, Rafeeq of Channa, Javaid of Angralla, Abdul Majeed of Channa and Mohd Abrar of Bhagga.
In another instance of bovines smuggling, team of police station Mahore intercepted and arrested two bovine smugglers Mohd Hanief of Dhansal and Fayaz Ahmed of Thuroo who were on way to Kulgam along with four bovines.
Another bovines smuggling bid was foiled in Arnas area when Police apprehended two smugglers Fareed Ahmed of Lamsora and Mohd Iqbal of Dharoti and rescued 4 numbers of bovines from their possession from Santhal area of Arnas.
In another success, team of police station Arnas intercepted 5 bovines smugglers namely Mohd Shafi of Dhansal, Arfat Ahmed of Dhansal, Farooq of Gool, Mohd Yousaf of Gool and Mohd Isaq of Bathoi. Police rescued 7 bovines from the smugglers while they were on way towards Gool Ramban.
Fifteen bovines were rescued from the possession of two bovine smugglers namely Mohd Mushtaq and Mohd Farooq of Neoch Mahore.
Team of Police Post Shajroo intercepted and arrested one Mohd Yousaf of Chillad and rescued 10 bovines from his possession when he was on way to Kulgam district of Kashmir valley.
Similarly, team of Police Station Chassana chased and arrested one bovine smuggler Saddam Hussain of Babotal Chassana from Tuli area and rescued 15 numbers of bovines from his possession.
