RAJOURI, June 23: Three persons including a 9-year-old boy, were buried alive while three others injured in a house collapse near Shahdara Sharief in Thanna Mandi area of district Rajouri today.
A police spokesman said that incident took place when the family was busy in repair of a kutcha house near Shahdara Sharief Ziarat in Thanna Mandi this afternoon. Two persons had also been engaged for the work by the family. Suddenly the main wooden piller supporting the load of the central wooden beam (Shehteer) broke down and the house collapsed. A portion of the house was meant for the cattle.
While three persons including a minor boy of the family were buried alive, three others received injuries and were rushed to Thanna Mandi hospital. Two were killed on the spot and third, the minor boy succumbed to injuries on way to hospital.
The deceased were identified as Mohd Shabir (45), son of Haji Mohd Din, his 9 year-old son- Afzal and Mohd Rafiq (40), son of Lala, residents of Shahdara. Their bodies were extricated by the villagers who rushed to the site after incident. The police party led by SDPO also reached there after some time. The three injured identified as Mohd Asif (25), son of Nazar Hussain, Tariq Hussain (60), son of Nazam Din and Nasir Hussain (35), son of Lal Din were removed to Thanna Mandi hospital. Later, two of them were referred to District hospital, Rajouri. The police registered a case and started investigation.
