Apni Party expresses concern over drug menace

JAMMU, July 7: Apni Party provincial president of Women Wing Jammu, Namrta Sharma today urged police department to tighten grid against perpetrators of drug menace which has given rise to criminal activities and created a difficult situation for women in particular.
Addressing a public meeting at Digiana, Namrta said drug menace has increased among youth and it should be curbed by the police involving members of civil society.
She said, people have complained about the menace and demanded police patrolling to check the menace.
A large number of women joined Apni Party on this occasion and they included Baljeet Kour, Kulwant Kour, Seema, Anju Kour, Sunita Kour, Manjeet Kour, and others
Welcoming new entrants into the party, Namrta said that incidents of chain snatching and theft are linked with drug menace.
Meanwhile, she said that locals have serious concern over the stinking nallah at Model Town and demanded it’s de-silting.
Senior women leaders of Apni Party, Pavneet Kour, Sarabjeet Kour were also present on the occasion.
