2 drug peddlers held with heroin in Budgam

SRINAGAR, July 7: Police today said to have arrested two notorious drug peddlers in Budgam and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
A Police party from Police Station Chadoora at a checkpoint established at Wathora intercepted a person roaming in suspicious condition and was tactfully arrested by the alert police party.
“During checking, officers were able to recover 300 grams of heroin from his possession. He has been identified as Younis Manzoor alias Sahil son of Manzoor Ahmad Waza resident of Wathoora,” police said.
During questioning, another drug peddler was arrested upon his revelation from Wathora. He has been identified as Nasir Farooq Sofi son of Farooq Ahmad Sofi resident of Wathoora Chadoora. During checking, officers were also able to recover 200 grams of heroin from his possession.
“Both the persons have been shifted to the police station where they remain in custody,” police said, adding that the investigation suggests that these drug peddlers were going to sell the heroin among the youth of the area.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 106/2021 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police Station Chadoora and further investigation set into motion. More arrests and recoveries are expected.
