NC OBC Cell seeks implementation of Mandal Report

JAMMU, July 9: National Conference OBC Cell today sought implementation of the Mandal Commission Report in Jammu and Kashmir and coordinated efforts for execution of various schemes aimed at ameliorating the lot of weaker sections of the society, especially the OBCs.
“There has been slow pace on the implementation of welfare schemes for OBC segments of the society, which need priority attention of the Lt Governor’s administration”, Co-Chairperson of the Cell Abdul Gani Teli said while addressing workers here today.
He sought one time issuance of the OBC Certificate on the analogy of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories. He also demanded political reservation to the OBC on the analogy of SC/ST and added that at the time of issuing OBC Certificate, income Certificate should not be mandatory.
The Co- Chairperson also sought nomination of members of OBC communities in various decision making bodies and Corporations. He also expressed concern over fund starvation for the welfare schemes of OBCs in the SC/ ST / OBC Development Financial Corporation.
