JAMMU, June 24: Former Union Minister and president, J&K Pradesh Congress, Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz has condemned the statement of BJP senior leader Lal Kishan Advani regarding removal of Article 370 from the Constitution of India.
“I strongly condemn Lal Kishan Advani’s statement on removal of Article 370 from the Constitution of India”, Soz said.
If it were possible to remove this Article from the Statute Book, why didn’t NDA do so when it was in power with Advani as Deputy Prime Minister, he questioned.
Let me tell Advani that the Constitutional position is that Article 370 can neither be removed nor amended, by any authority, Soz asserted.
He alleged that Advani has raised this bogey to mislead gullible people. It is also very widely known that the BJP has been raising this issue on the eve of every election in India, he added.
