RAJOURI, June 24: An Army jawan committed suicide by shooting himself with his service rifle in Keri sector of Rajouri last night.
Identified as Naik Narinder Singh, son of Dharam Singh, resident of Mahanpur in Haryana, he was posted in 38 RR located some where in Pir Bhadesar area near the Line of Control in district Rajouri. The jawan received a phone call and after that he got visibly disturbed. Later, he took out his gun and pierced 2-3 bullets into his chest and committed suicide. The senior officers of the unit rushed to the site and later informed police. The police shifted the body to hospital for postmortem and later handed over to the unit after performing legal formalities. The body was later sent to his home town in Haryana.
