Virtual rallies for implementation of Mandal Commission in J&K

JAMMU, July 11: Demanding implementation of Mandal Commission Report in Jammu and Kashmir, All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC along with its wing National SC ST OBC Students and Youth Front J&K (NSYF) held virtual rallies at 100 places all across the J&K UT.
These rallies were organised by Dr Sameer Choudhary, President NSYF and headed by R K Kalsotra, State President Confederation. The rallies were held to demand 27 percent reservation for OBCs by implementing Mandal Commission recommendations in UT-J&K.
The rallies were organised at different places like RS Pura, Chenani, Inderwal, Ramnagar, Khandwal, Kathua, Samba, Akhnoor, Billawar, Basholi, Bani, Doda, Bhaderwah, Kishtwar, Ramban, Srinagar, Budgam, Pulwama, Shopian, Kulgam, Baramulla, Kupwara etc.
RK Kalsotra, while addressing the rallies, demanded implementation of Mandal Commission in Jammu Kashmir as per the Constitution of India. The OBCs should get 27 percent reservation in Govt jobs as well as reservation in promotion, he said and added that the Confederation and youth movements have shown great potential in the past, be it in the freedom struggle or caste movement in the rallies.
Explaining that OBC castes in J&K have been shown as OSC and deprived of all benefits by the successive Govts. “Even Prime Minister Narinder Modi had made a commitment before election to implement Mandal Commission report in toto but the same is still not fulfilled, he said and appealed the Prime Minister to fulfill his promise made to OBCs of J&K.
The participants in the rallies also sought intervention of the Central Government and Lieutenant Governor to implement Mandal Commission in Jammu and Kashmir.
The active members, who led the rallies at different places, included Dr Sameer, Muzaffar Bhalessi, A N Bhagat, Shashi Syal, Dina Nath, Bagh Hussain, Mohd Iqbal Badhana, Ashok Kumar, Mohan Lal, Atirf Kumar, Dr Chetna Kumari, Talib Kasana, Rattan Lal, Mohammad Amir Bhadarwahi, Shabir Mastana Trali, Shabir Ahmed Koli, Salinder Singh, Kuljeet Singh, Mushtaq Ahmed Deedar, Tilak Raj, Chuni Lal and others.
