SRINAGAR, July 12 : The National Investigation Agency today arrested three alleged ISIS cadres in Voice of Hind (VoH) case from South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
The raids continued for second consecutive day today during which the NIA along with Police and CRPF raided a shop -Geographic Printing Press – in Anantnag and arrested one person identified as Aarif Hussain Qadri son of Peerzada Tahir, a resident of Khaja Mir Ali Sahib, Cheeni Chowk Anantnag. The NIA seized one laptop besides other important documents during the raid.
The NIA along with police and CRPF also raided the residence of Aqib Ahmed Sofi alias Nadim and Mohammad Arif Sofi sons of Ghulam Nabi Sofi, a resident of Sofi Mohalla Achabal, both were arrested from their house for questioning.
The NIA in a statement said that that examination of the arrested accused in the case led to searches today at two more locations in Anantnag district, in which a number of digital devices and other materials were seized.
The NIA in a statement said that they arrested three ISIS cadres in ISIS Voice of Hind (VoH) case yesterday from Anantnag district.
It said that NIA arrested three accused Umar Nisar son of Nisar Ahmed Bhat, Tanveer Ahmad Bhat son of Gull Mohammad Bhat and Rameez Ahmad Lone son of Javed Ahmad Lone-all residents of Anantnag.
It said that the case was registered by NIA on 29.06.2021 under Sections 124A, 153A, &153B of IPC and Sections 17, 18, 18B, 38, 39 &40 of UA(P) Act 1967 in connection with the conspiracy of the proscribed militant organization ISIS to radicalize and recruit impressionable youth in India to wage violent jihad against the Indian State.
“ISIS militants operating from various conflict zones along with ISIS cadres in India, by assuming pseudo-online identities, have created a network wherein ISIS related propaganda material is disseminated for radicalizing and recruiting members to the fold of ISIS. In this connection, an India-Centric online propaganda magazine ‘The Voice of Hind (VoH)’ is published on monthly basis with an aim to incite and radicalize impressionable youth,” it read.
It said that NIA had earlier conducted searches at the premises of the arrested accused and recovered large number of incriminating documents, multiple digital devices and T-shirts with ISIS logo.
“Preliminary examination of the seized material and examination of the accused persons revealed that they are active cadres of ISIS and have been using the cyberspace to propagate inciting material by the online magazine (VoH)”, the statement read.
