Srinagar, July 13: Police in Kulgam today said to have arrested 4 gamblers from a gambling site and seized stake money from their possession.
Acting on specific information, a Police Party headed by SHO PS Qaimoh under the supervision of SDPO Qazigund raided a gambling site at village Hawoora following an input about gambling activities and apprehended four gamblers.
“They have been identified as Jahangir Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Dar resident of Mirgund Khod Khanbal, Anantnag,
Mohammad Altaf Dar son of Mohammad Ayoub Dar, Mubarak Ahmad Dar son of Abdul Rasheed Dar and Bilal Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar, all residents of Redwani, Qaimoh,” police said.
Police said that the team seized stake money of Rs 37,060/-, 08 sets of playing cards, 04 mobile phones and 01 nylon Tarpaulin from the gamblers, besides, a vehicle bearing registration number JK14B-5281 used in the commission of the crime has also been seized.
“They have been arrested and shifted to the police station.
A case FIR No. 61/2020 under relevant sections of law stands registered in Police station Qaimoh.
