Drug peddler arrested, two taken into preventive custody

JAMMU, July 13: Bahu Fort Police arrested a narcotics peddler, while Bhaderwah Police took two youth into preventive custody after recovery of drugs and some allied equipments.
As per police sources, on routine checking on Satyam road, a team from Bahu Fort Police Station intercepted a person, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered around 400 grams ganja from the possession of the person and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Akhter Hussain, son of Islamuddin of Bhatolia, District Gopalganj, Bihar, at present Extension 1-C Trikuta Nagar, District Jammu.
During preliminary investigation, the arrested person disclosed that the consignment was supposed to be delivered among youths in Trikuta Nagar and its adjoining area.
A case under FIR Number 255/2021 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Deepak Pathania and assisted by PSI Balbir Singh made the arrest and recovery under the supervision of SDPO East Bikram Kumar and SP South Deepak Digra.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Bhaderwah led by SHO Ghulam Hassan laid a naka and took two persons into preventive custody for carrying drugs and some drugs equipments’ in non-commercial qualtity.
The names of the persons are Irfan Khan, son of late Gulzar Ahmad Khan of Janipur Colony District Jammu, at present Bhaderwah and Sahir Ahmad Sheikh, son of Mohammad Sharied of Gatha.
Cognizance against the arrested persons has been taken by Bhaderwah Police.
