14 pilgrims among 15 injured as bus rolls down near Katra

KATRA, July 13: At least 14 local pilgrims of Mata Vaishno Devi and a labourer were injured when a bus carrying them rolled down near Moori under the jurisdiction of Katra Police Station, here today.
The injured were rushed to Community Health Centre Katra where nine of them were referred to GMC Hospital Jammu. Condition of all the injured was stated to be stable and out of danger.
The accident took place around 1730 hours when the passenger bus, bearing registration number JK02S – 6925 and coming from Jammu towards Katra, rolled down about 20 feet deep gorge while negotiating a curve.
Some locals and Police shifted the injured persons to CHC Katra where doctors referred nine of them to GMC Hospital Jammu for advanced treatment.
The injured were referred to GMC Hospital Jammu, were identified as Nishu Kumari (21) and her husband Ravinder Kumar (27), son of Mangu Ram of Satwari Jammu, Udhay (14), son of Darshan Lal of Satwari, Nirmal Kour (42), wife of Assa Singh of Kathua, Ritu Sharma (40), wife of Parshotam Dan of Satwari Airport Jammu, Raiwal Dan (48), son of Gullu Ram of Satwari Airport Jammu, (48), his wife Darshna (37), their son Ashwani Kumar (13) and Zahir Alam (36), son of Satar Diwan, resident of Uttar Pradesh, presently putting up at Katra.
Those undergoing treatment at CHC Katra, included Raman Deep Kour (22), daughter of Assa Singh of Kathua, Parshotam Dass (50), son of Danpat Ram of Satwari Jammu, his daughter Suhani Sharma (15) and two sons Himanshu (5) and Dipanshu Sharma (13), Sarvjote Singh (13), son of Lal Singh of Kathua.
