UDHAMPUR, July 14: A 19-year youth, missing for the last around two months, was today found dead in Tawi river in Chenani.
According to the reports, the decomposed body of Tanish Sharma (19), son of Madan Lal Sharma, resident of Ward number 7 Chenani, was spotted in Tawi River in Chenani area, by some locals, who informed the police.
Family members of the deceased told the Police that the youth was missing since May 22. On the same day, his sleeper were found on banks of Tawi river which indicated that he had either jumped into the river for ending life or drowned while taking bath. However, despite hectic efforts by the Chenani Police and locals to locate his body, no success was made.
This morning, decomposed body of the deceased was found lying in Tawi water following which Police was informed. A case under Section 174 CrPC has been registered in this connection for further investigation while the body of the deceased was handed over to his family members after completion of all the legal formalities and postmortem.
