JAMMU, July 16: Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highway has designated son of the soil, Dr. Kuldeep Singh Jamwal, (retired Dy. DG Geological Survey of India) as Convenor of Sub Committee constituted for formulation of various guidelines related to Highway Tunnels.
The Sub Committee has five more members.
Jamwal has been awarded Professor W.D West Memorial Oration Award for the year 2021 by the Vice Chancellor of Dr. Harisingh Gour Vishwavidyalya, Sagar (MP).
The award is conferred annually to honour an alumnus who reached to the pinnacle of a geological organisation or academic institution.
Jamwal has been awarded for his most outstanding contributions in Engineering Geology in India, Congo, Burundi, Ethiopia, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Bhutan, and Afghanistan.
