PM, Sonia visit injured Army jawans

Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Union Health Minister Gh Nabi Azad enquiring about the health of injured jawan on Tuesday.

SRINAGAR, June 25: Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi visited the injured soldiers undergoing treatment at the Base Hospital, Badami Bagh Cantonment this afternoon.
Singh and Sonia were received by General Officer Commanding (GOC) 15 Corps, Lt. General Gurmit Singh at the Base Hospital and he briefed them about the condition of the injured soldiers.
The PM was accompanied by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare Ghulam Nabi Azad and AICC general secretary incharge J&K Ambika Soni.They visited the ICU as well as the Surgical ward and met the injured soldiers.
PM enquired about the health of soldiers and praised them for their bravery and dedication in the service of the Nation. He while expressing his deepest sense of compassion towards the soldiers said: “I am proud of what Army is doing for the service of the Nation”.
PM wished the soldiers a speedy recovery.He said he is aware about the great service that hospital is rendering towards the health services of the soldiers and the people of Kashmir.
