SUCHETGARH, July 16: Responding to the request of District Development Council (DDC) Member Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony, a team of officials of Flood Control (FC) Department today visited Satriyan.
The visiting team comprised Assistant Executive Engineer and Junior Engineers and it took stock of the physical and financial aspects for starting the crate work along the Nallah in order to prevent further soil erosion in the area especially due to rains.
Tony also accompanied the team.
While interacting with the people of the area, he said that they would soon feel respite as the FC Department has initiated proceedings and assured to start the work soon.
Later in a statement Tony said that Satriyan village has been neglected on all fronts by the previous regimes.
He lamented that problems and issues have multiplied over years and if the government does not take them seriously today, then it will take years to address these long pending issues.
Tony appealed the Advisors of J&K LG to visit Suchetgarh to assess the ground situation and mitigate problems of the border people once for all.
