LEH, July 17: The Chairman/Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson and MP Ladakh, Jamyang Tsering Namgyal visited Bakula Rinpoche Memorial Park (BMP) at Spituk road today to lay the foundation stone for the beautification of BMP.
Councillor Lower Leh, Councillor Phyang, ADC Leh, Head of religious organizations, representatives of political parties, Executive Engineers of Construction and PHE, officials of Leh Development Authority (LDA), monks of Spituk Monastery and the members of Bakula Memorial Society were present on the occasion.
A pre-construction ritual was performed by the monks of Spituk Monastery, followed by laying the foundation stone by all the dignitaries present during the ceremony led by CEC, Leh and MP Ladakh.
The members of BMP apprised CEC Tashi Gyalson and MP JTN of their plans for renovating the park which includes the construction of an Amphitheatre, Cafeteria and a compound walling of the surrounding. CEC Tashi Gyalson urged the executing agencies to complete the work on a war-footing basis to meet up its proposed deadline.
